this is in response to a question I asked concerning black/white relationships. I was a bit astounded when some people avered that blacks are genetically/biologically more aggressive. Please back this up with fact.

Good to read reasonable answers, but I am waiting to read an answer that attempts to back up this claim

It's not genetics, it's background. Blacks just grow up being told that they have to be aggressive in order to get anywhere.

Genetics play a big role in aggression, and aggressive tendancies. I would ask you to prove that they are "more aggressive" and if you can prove that, then you need to look at possibly multi-variant causes for the behavior you are trying to quantify. If you set variable x as aggression, and you observe population B to have a higher x-factor, then the potential variables might include: Cultural factors, Socio-Economic Factors, Genetic predisposition, etc. You would need to take steps to quantify and measure all of those variables before you could say for certain that population B's higher x-factor is genetic in nature.

You could also do some inferential analysis and try to isolate the "genetic" factor, by removing the others from the equation. In this case this would mean bringing a member of Population B into existence where the subject has no contact with the culture or socio-economic factors influencing the rest of Population B. Additionally, you could sample people who are already isolated from those factors and measure for x-fact. If they are equally aggressive, then you would have a good case for it being genetic in nature. (example: sample Black children that were adopted into non-Black families, with no socio-economic problems, ie affluent.

Good luck in your research!

I grew up during a time in history that was not long before the 60's riots. I am white and was raised by a predudist man. I have over the years overcome this attitude and learned to get along. I have no problems with blacks. As a matter of fact I have more problems dealing with whites than blacks. I have never noted blacks being more aggressive than whites.

No way. All the African Americans I know are NOT "agressive"....and in ghetto area's any race (white, hispanic, ect.) may have a tendency to behave in an agressive manner,--but wouldn't ANYBODY just about?--if they were surrounded by hardship and near poverty, in those particuliar area's?
That's the craziest thing I've ever heard of.
I think it's a fact that as a whole humanity is crazy in some ways and once we finally (hopefully) reach the point of all getting along w/out prejudice, discriminating behavior (towards ANY race) we can then move on to other serious matters, like saving the environment.

lol. Takes balls to ask this question. Well if your white. I would say no. Unless they showed me the gene which in no doubt makes Blacks more aggressive then yes. But there are other factors.

Haha- I would like to hear peoples answers on this one because saying that a black person is genetically programmed to be more agressive, just because of their color, is like saying that if you buy the red bike instead of the blue one you can ride faster.

of course not!!! the only difference between black ppl and white ppl(as u put it) is melanin which is a substance in d skin which "decides" wether we are pale, very tan...ect ect.d only reason ppl might say this is that d stereotype of a black person is a bit ghetto but this generalisation is unfair and untrue, also i think it is a case of nature and nurture so it doesnt matter what d colour of your skin is no one is born aggressive

My son is 6'2" and passive. He has been socially programmed by me to be a good, caring, decent human being.

Where do you get this stuff? I think that circumstances can be a cause for aggression.
