yup! there's a site called www.fictionpress.com. it's free and user-friendly, and you can post anything you like there.
and if you happen to write fantasy, elfwood.com is a fun site for that.

I am a writer also and there are lots of places on the web to post your stories and poetry. A good way to choose is to google fourms that are for writers, then review their guidelines. This way you can choose the ones that fit your type of writing.

You can check out deviant art. I am not sure if they have a place for peoples writings but for some reason I believe they do. I think they are a all around art site for all forms.
