I have an idea. I was wondering if anyone would buy a beaded bracelet, necklace, toe ring, or ring if they knew how they wanted it to look. What I would require was a picture, or a pattern, and the time to make it. I could make anything anyone wanted, within reason. Would you be more inclined to buy something that was custom-made by you, either for yourself for someone else for a present ? Or would you rather buy it in a store, or make it yourself?

It depends on how convenient the store was, i.e. local and/or online, and how stylish the designs were. You'd have to show some examples to get people thinking of what they could do, but it's a very viable possibility.

I think when things are custom made, it is more precious and beautiful. You can buy something from the store and be ok with it, but everyone and there mother might have the same exact thing. I would rather be different.

This business DOES exist. My niece regularly buys me such things from a woman on her job. Why not just make a bunch of stuff and sell it to local boutiques or consignment shops? Use your entrepreneurial spirit to full advantage. There are clubs for people who do this. They publish brochures and participate in Art fairs too.

For me, I would rather have it custom made, as a gift, I would rather buy it from a store already made. I would not want to make it myself though, because I am not crafty like that.

I think it's a good idea, but it would be hard to start and let people know about, you know? I guess it's worth trying if you have the time and can stand the chance that it may not work out for you.
