The man that caused so much suffering to so many people will finally be gone. I am sickened to read so many reviews online of people who actually believe he shouldn't be executed. How could anyone take up for such an evil man? Don't you think we should all be greatful to our great president for accomplishing such a thing? This makes me proud to have voted for George Bush.

I agree he should suffer more, just like the people who suffer because of him but unfortunately if we did that some human rights do gooder would do something to get him out of it, at least when he is dead, it will be over and he will be in hell

I am with you 110% reallyfed...
You said it right. People in this y!A just don't get it, do they?
Pres.Bush is not wishy washy. He says things the way they are. He stands firm in what he says and what he does. He is clear. There are no 'may be this or may be that'.
I have always said this to those who do Bush battering: Oneday, Historians will write in their books "President George W. Bush: The greatest president ever lived".
Amen.

You should be ashamed of yourself for being proud for voting for George Bush, yes Saddam Hussein is evil and did deserve to be punished for his crimes but what about George Bush, there not many people on earth that are more evil than George Bush, he deserves the same as Saddam Hussein as he is just as guilty of horrendous crimes against humanity ie: if you look at the evidence including the scientific evidence which can't be disputed of 9/11 - it was obviously an inside job and anyone that disagrees should just open their eyes!! then say their president is great!

Without arguing that Saddam Hussein was evil and deserved punishment, was he not a prisoner of war? Shouldn't he have been tried by the International court of Justice? The whole thing smacks of a symbolic assassination- illegal when traditionally leaders (even really evil ones like baby doc etc) are given asylum or clemency unless crimes against humanity are tried by the court at the Hague. Like most of the civilised world, I am opposed to executions- to watch as a man is hung for a terrible few hundred deaths (according to his questionable "trial") while a conservative estimate of over 100,000 civilians have been killed as a result of our military "liberation", makes me wonder who indeed should be tried for crimes against humanity. It is a sad day for Lady Justice, barbarism has prevailed once again.

What will be accomplished by hanging Saddam? Will it bring back the people he killed? NO! It will actually cause *more* innocent people to be killed by unleashing more violence and giving the Sunnis a martyr to hold up as an icon. Saddam should rot in a crappy Iraqi jail for 30 more years - that would deliver justice a lot better than giving him a swift and painless death.
You know, you could give the same description to Bush: "the man that caused so much suffering to so many people..."

I think he deserves to die, yes.
I can't say it's "great" because I can't seem to take any pleasure in his death. There is so much killing going on over there already, it just makes me sad to have to add to it.
Besides, I am worried that if he is executed he will become a martyr to some groups, who may be then more "inspired" to do more killing out of resentment of his death. They will see his execution, rightly or wrongly, as an "American" murder, and we may wind up paying for it, rightly or wrongly.
I'd be happier if his death were to work a closure and a symbolic punishment, like the executions of the Nazis at Nuremburg, but I'm afraid it will solve nothing at all except to rid of us of one man.

No and that is because he was not given a fair trial. It is unfortunate that the US had to lower itself to such a level. God help America and its wonderful people.

How can you rationalize revelling in someone being executed. Saddam deserves to spend every moment paying for his crimes through hard labour. Death is an end to his suffering. The people who's lives are still being affected by Saddam will continue to pay long after the execution. This is not justice, this is vengeance, if it is justice you want, make him pay for years.Death is too easy for him. My opinion only...
