Australia didn't bid for2010 world cup /2006 but now they want to host 2010 world cup,claiming that the host south africa will fail .On other side South africa lost their 2006 bid in controversial cicurmstances to Germany with one fifa member deciding not to vote for either Germany /S A.Recently won 2010 bid against other countries. SA was not just given by fifa but came with an outstanding bid which briliantlly met all fifa requirements .Worldcup is not just given to any country to host it but willing countries should present their bids then the winner host it.What is your opinion ?

I heard.... It it said.... the fact is no country is immune to crime so why are australians complaining about the crime rate in south afirca? No person in their right mind would want ot walk tipsy in Brooklyn so why the hell do they think think it will be safe to do so in South Africa?
Fact is SA and Australia are big rivals when it comes to any sport so its understandable for aussie to want to host it in case SA fails to. If FIFA had any doubts over the hosting of the world cup in SA then they would have changed their minds.Pls do not believe rumours.

Well I'm Australian and I wish South Africa all the best. They do have problems to overcome and I hope they can address them successfully. But if not, as a fan of the game and an Aussie I certainly am not going to say I wouldn't be happy to have the opportunity.

I'll put it in a question surrounding the safety of the visitors, where would I be comfortable walking alone in the streets and a little tipsy, well I would choose Australia over South Africa.

it has been a long time since an african country has hosted it (or only time?), so we should give south africa the chance to prove themselves and show their reemergence as a developed country

They were claiming SA could be ready for the WC just before a major collapse at one of their stadia. Scary. I ain't going to SA no way.
And chief-of-police in SA has a flame thrower weapon security device built in to his car as anti-hijack device. I'm scared of potential for brutal serious crime.
