Fundamental Christians, especially, love to dismiss homosexuality, saying it is a horrible sin. Of course, they ignore the fact that their judgments are condemned by Jesus, and that they are using their self-righteousness to cover up their own faults, while focusing on the lives of others.
For example, they will preach about gays, but yet they turn a blind eye to the fact that the divorce rate amongst born-again Christians is very high! (see the attached information.) And, yet, adultery, divorce, etc. are all condemned in the bible, but they act like just because they are Christians, then all is forgiven -- ignoring their own hypocrisy.
So, it's just another way for people to justify their need to be hateful, and gays are an especially easy target for those who want to condemn others. And no matter how much medical or scientific proof is presented to them, they will refuse to give up their neurotic notions!

Because society has brainwashed them into thinking homosexuality is wrong for so many years that they are never going to change. Even if you tell them it is a natural occurence, they will still not believe it. If they accepted that it was completely normal and okay than that would be going against everything that they have ever thought. For some, it would be going against their religion. I think it is going to take a very long time for homosexuality to be accepted.

First, there are NOT ALOT of people against LGBTs. There are some that are very bigoted for various reasons and they twist the weakminded into believing that gays are bad and evil. Once the truth comes to light most people accept gays as the normal people that they are.

Fault doesn't enter the question, since nothing wrong is being done.
Mostly it's the Judeo-Christian religion. The ancient Greeks and Romans didn't care one way or another who another went to bed with.

i think because people don't really understand us and if you don't understand something you get scared of it then angry of it and eventually you're intolerant of it.
it's difficut to say "so many" people because i've experienced people who say they're cool with homo's and then say something behind their back. I think when approaching the issue of homosexuality nobody is honest even in this day and age with the progresses made.
Unless you experience the emotional aspect of being gay you'll never truly understand them,

Because people have to alienate anything that doesn't fit into the social norm. Quite frankly, I'm sick of it.
