This is for the old timers. Laff! In the early 80's, most likely 1980 or 1981, there was a song, a "pop" song, played on the radio in NYC whose lyrics go SOMETHING like this: (the thing is some of the words could be completely different, but I'm pretty sure on the chorus)

I wish that I'd been told,
I got to know you,
I wake up singing welcome pleased to meet you.

Some of the words include "it's freaky in the middle" - The words "sausage", "knife and fork" are also in the song.

I know it sounds crazy, but that's all I can remember for now. Thanks!

It's "Glad To Know You" by Chas Jankel, originally wirtten by Ian Dury & Chas Jankel.

It may also have been performed by Kitty Grant.

UGH! I can't recall - but I'll forward to a friend who will probably know . . . (Or someone on here will jump in.)
