Wicked! It's a great show and has fabulous music. It also has some great themes and lessons for girls of all ages. It's the story about what happened before the Wizard of Oz, and it's an amazing show. I would totally reccomend it for your family.

I just got done seeing Wicked and I was amazed by it. It's the story about what really went on during and after Dorothy went to Oz. Everyone will love it. If not there are 2 new Disney musicals:Tarzan and Mary Poppins. To find out more about those go to disneyonbroadway.com.

I would have to say "Wicked". The story is familiar enough since it's based off "Wizard of Oz". The music is really catchy, and should be able to hold the attention of teens, tweens, and parents alike.
Unfortunately, they're still too young for Avenue Q, which is a brilliant show. It would probably be OK for your 17 year old, but not for your younger ones. :)

I think you should see Wicked. It is amazing! If you haven't heard of it before it is a prequel to the Wizard of Oz.

If it is coming to your area, the touring show of "The Light in the Piazza" is fabulous. 10 might be a little young, but the kids will love the cute love story, and you and your wife will appreciate the stresses and fears of the mother. There is only one scene even mildly sexual (he doesn't have a shirt on, she is in her slip, not it's really not that risque, but a charged moment in the plot), everything else is very innocent. I LOVED this show. Check this site to see if it's coming to your city, and to see what other shows are touring there: http://broadwayacrossamerica.com/BAA.Public.Web/index.aspx
The below are all playing in NYC right now.
Mary Poppins http://www.broadway.com/gen/Show.aspx?si=524489 and Wicked http://www.broadway.com/gen/Show.aspx?si=30434 are good choices.
Altar Boyz is a spoof on boy bands and is supposed to be hilarious, I'm going to see this on tour in a couple weeks, but it's playing off-Broadway in NYC as well. http://www.broadway.com/gen/Show.aspx?si=504296
Anne of Green Gables is playing off-Broadway, though I've heard nothing about this show. http://www.broadway.com/gen/Show.aspx?si=539218
Hairspray, a classic. Okay, maybe not classic, but cute. http://www.broadway.com/gen/Show.aspx?si=19072
The Drowsy Chaperone http://www.broadway.com/gen/Show.aspx?si=525235 is supposed to be a great show spoofing 1920s musicals.
The Fantasticks http://www.broadway.com/gen/Show.aspx?si=530762 and Phantom of the Opera http://www.broadway.com/gen/Show.aspx?si=1235 truly are Broadway classics, and both are suitable for children.
If your kids have seen the movie "The Wedding Singer", than the musical version would be suitable for their ages. I've heard some of the songs and love them, they are very 80s rock/pop. http://www.broadway.com/gen/Show.aspx?si=516152
I'd love to see a show in NYC!!! Have a great time.
