I have not read any Pessoa which I disliked, but "As She Passes" and "Should Somebody Someday" gave me pause and thoughts of Mauberly.

Fernando Pessoa used at least 72 names, or, more correctly, personalities. He also used a few pseudonyms, but as he himself said: "A pseudonymic work is, except for the name with which it is signed, the work of an author writing as himself; a heteronymic work is by an author writing outside his own personality: it is the work of a complete individuality made up by him, just as the utterances of some character in a drama would be."

The most significant "heteronyms" used by Passeo seem to be:

Alberto Caeiro
Ricardo Reis
Álvaro de Campos
Bernardo Soares
António Mora
The Baron of Teive
Thomas Crosse
I. I. Crosse (Thomas's brother)
Coelho Pacheco
Raphael Baldaya
Maria José

Wherever you go, well, there you are. What courage he had!
