The first answer is not quite correct. Many (not all) blood pressure medicines CAN be taken with Viagra.

Some men ask their doctor if they can skip a blood pressure pill once a week. That enables them to have normal sex weekly without letting blood pressure go too high. Sometimes men need Viagra in addition, especially diabetics.

Talk to your doctor about your options. Don't be embarrassed. Believe me, the doctor has heard it all before! Medical science is starting to realize that a healthy sex life is good for general health, so doctors are much more open to helping with this kind of problem than they used to be. If you have a fuddy-duddy doctor who thinks that everyone over 40 should stop having sex, get another doctor!

It is the high blood preasure to start with that is dimminishing your sex drive. Ther are many things you can do. Some of them are difficult to explain on this system. Email us directly a staright email and we will send you info back. answwwerman@yahoo.com or email us through this system.

How old are you? Tell us something about your health history? Are you married?

We assume you are older so that is why we ask if married? But you say you are active and that suggests you might be single.

You can not perform well sexually if you have a poor cardio vascular system. When you get sexually arrounsed blood fills an entire section of your body to help stimulate this and to do the things you body would do in sex. If you have high blood preasure you probably also have clogged arteries and are candidate for heart attack or stroke.
You should get a doppler examination and find out how clogged your arteries are but then do not let the quacks who call them selves heart doctors treat you. Either get intravenous chelation therapy (which few heart doctors would recomend ) or email us and we will tell you how you can eat some foods and natural things to get the cloggs to go away.

This is very common with several different drugs. Some will affect your ability to obtain or maintain an erection. Orgasm can also be hard to achieve. The easiest and cheapest way to try to remedy this, without going to the doctor for more liver killing pills, is when the urge of your spouse for sexual activity arises, ask her to help you get aroused. If she is the quiet reserved type, and won't/doesn't/can't initiate the first move, then some erotic reading material or fantasy type thoughts may help you to get in the mood. If erection is a problem, there are several blood restricting type devices that fit on the base of your .....that should help you to stay hard. If you then have trouble reaching orgasm, get in the habit of concentrating on making sure your partner is satisfied and then let your mind fantasize about the sexiest thoughts possible. Been there, Done that.

If you are taking high blood pressure medications, then you are not a candidate for Viagra or similar medications.

Truthfully, it sounds to me like you have much more important things to be concerned about than your "sex drive". Get your blood pressure problem under control. If you die from a stroke or heart attack, then your diminished sex drive will drop to zero!!!

you mean your penis is not easily aroused as before, right? i think thats one of the side effects of the medication you are taking. its so lower your blood pressure thus making it difficult for your penis to get hard! its not that you are not horny or dont want it as much but that its less blood pressure down there!

Talk to the doc and see if there is a different drug you can use that might not have this effect!

The best natural thing I've found is royal jelly. Since I started taking it I've become sort of a royal jelly pusher. It will work usually in about a week. It will not mess with your blood pressure medicine either. I get mine at http://www.beeroyalproducts.com because they have the purest freshest royal jelly available. Also be careful of the discount places some of them water it down (I had that happen to me once).

The urge of adult humans to have sexual intercourse is seen as being part of the biological need for social bonds. It is categorized with the needs for family, friends, and group acceptance in Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Moreoever, it is a basic instinct for survival, by way of reproduction and extend bloodline. The very need for sexual intercourse may have more to do with reproduction then creating social bonds. At an emotional level sexual intercourse is often, though not always, seen as the ultimate physical expression of feelings of romantic love between two humans. In many cultures, mutual romantic love often forms a formalized or informal partnership, a full sexual relationship within this partnership, procreation or adoption of children, and subsequent parenting. On a biological level, an increasing amount of research is demonstrating that a man's sex drive (and sexual attractiveness to women) is closely linked with hormones such as testosterone. A man can boost his testosterone naturally through reducing (or eliminating) smoking, alcohol, certain drugs such as most anti-depressants, emotional stress, and simple carbohydrates such as white sugar. He should also avoid exposing his testicles to too much heat such as from a hot tub. Conversely, eating a diet of 70% fruits and vegetables and 25% to 30% protein boosts a man's testosterone, as does drinking more water, lifting weights, sunbathing, and meditation.Sexual intercourse is also often decoupled from romantic love and/or from a wish for procreation. Casual sex, often used to satisfy a physiological or psychological need, is common although it is censured by some as being promiscuous and morally questionable. The sex industry is the commercialization of sex, and includes the production of pornography, erotic art, and erotic literature, as well as prostitution.

Low libido in men
Increase Sex DriveThe second most common sexual dysfunction in men after premature ejaculation is low libido, according to a recent issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association. And a loss of "mojo," as film character Austin Powers would put it, is also very difficult for men to discuss, despite the help available from health professionals. What defines a low libido for an individual is subjective and depends upon many variables but definitely involves a loss of sex drive, states Richard Kogan, M.D., a psychiatrist in private practice who specializes in the treatment of sexual dysfunction in New York City. Physical and mental health are key factors, and although many men are happy exceptions to the trend, sex drive generally decreases with age.

The difference between impotence and low libido
"Impotence and loss of libido are two very separate things," says Richard Milsten, M.D., a New Jersey-based urologist and coauthor of "The Sexual Male" (W.W. Norton and Company). "However, men who experience impotence commonly experience a decrease in libido over time," he adds. When libido drops and impotence is not a problem, there are numerous factors a doctor might suspect as the cause. Something must be done to increase sex drive When you're sick, libido suffers

Any medical problem or chronic physical condition can cause a reduction in one's sex drive. If a man is diagnosed with cancer, sex may be the furthest thing from his mind for a time. But even minor illnesses can diminish a man's sexual interest. Conversely, when men improve their health -- through exercise, a low-fat diet or, if necessary, medical treatment -- their libido is likely to increase.

Physical problems
While any illness can decrease sex drive, some conditions, such as thyroid disease, tumors of the pituitary gland (which controls most hormone production, including sex hormones) and depression, are directly linked to low libido, according to Milsten.

Insufficient testosterone
Similarly, insufficient amounts of the male sex hormone testosterone may cause low libido, though such a condition is unlikely to affect erectile function. Seth advises men who feel their physical condition has decreased their sex drive to consult a physician, keeping in mind that loss of libido is sometimes the only recognizable symptom of a medical problem.

Well you can try masturbating which makes you horny and makes you want to have sex more. You can also take Viagra but consult your doctor first.
