I Habe been Having ALOT of contractions at night and I time them. They get about 8 mins apart. Usually they say Braxton Hicks will stop if you change positions or Drink Water, but these stay consitant for sometimes hours at a time only thing is by morning NOTHING has happened! For the past month the baby has been head down and in position...Im feeling a TON of pressure on my bottom area and my bowels are looser than usual. I go about 3 times a day! (Sorry if that is TMI Just Had to share) and I feel SORE around my vagina area. I have also been having SHARP pains in my groin area they last for a few mins and then leave. MY breast are leaking like crazy and Im just wondering is all this signs I could be having a baby sooner than later? I am scheduled for my 4th ultrasound in a week because the Dr. says im measuring large for dates? Just Some Friendly feedback would ease my mind! Thanks alot!!!

It could be either way actually! My braxton hicks never eased with changing positions and I would have them regular for the whole day at about 10 minutes apart. Some were even VERY intense....still I never went into labor, I was induced. Pressure could just be the baby is becoming engaged, still, doesn't mean anything. My daughter engaged into the pelvis around 37 weeks and didn't do anything but hurt! The lose BMs could be from a surge in hormones, but I actually got more and more constipated as time went on after 35 weeks because baby was crowding my bowels in there. Leaking is normal! By 30 weeks I had to wear nursing pads in my bra because they leaked CONSTANTLY and not a little either! If you are measuring large, you might be farther along than originally thought and they might induce you sooner (or have baby sooner on your own). I wouldn't be concerned about anything right now though unless contractions (either braxton or reg you think) come less than 5 minutes apart or your water breaks. The last month is plain out horrible! It's uncomfortable, painful and the worst part of the whole time! But remember, it's almost over! :) Wait for the ultrasound and see what Doc says, otherwise....rest and relax! Trust me, it doesn't happen afterwards!! Good Luck!!

Im also pregnant and i am 37 weeks as of 12/28/06. My baby has already dropped ALOT. I havent had any leaking or anything and the whole bathroom thing is the same. I do feel alot of pressure, especially when i stand up and move around. I would be going to the ER and finding out about those contractions because your not supposed to be having those that severe this early. But I guess as long as your water hasnt broke everything is ok. Id still go back to the doctor and double check. Rather b safe than sorry when it comes to you and your baby! Good Luck and I hope everything works out for you.

If you dont have the baby by the time you read this.. then it will be coming Pretty Soon. Usually you can be dilated for a couple of weeks and have the Braxton Hicks off and on.. but you sound like the baby can come at any minute! Call your doctor.. let him know the symptoms.. he will probably want to check you that day :) Good Luck :)

Regardless of what anyone says - #1 call your dr. they will have you come in asap!!!!

#2 you can be in labor even if your water hasn't broken!!!

I was 6 centimeters dialated with my second child when i left my dr.'s office to go to the hospital and the water did not break until her head was almost out!!! No one was expecting this and no one was prepared to deliver my baby right then and there!!! I had just gotten to the hospital and by the time i got my gown on and laid down - guess what? the baby's head pushed down, where you could actually see it and the water bursted!!! lol it was too funny, anyways please go see your dr. or show up at the emergency room - i'm sure you'd rather have your baby at the hospital than at home, wondering if it's the real thing....

I wouldn't WORRY about it, but you are right to monitor the contractions. You're probably having weekly visits with the doctor now, so raise it with him/her at the next appointment.

I had the sharp pains in the groin (ligaments stretching) and vaginal pain for a couple of weeks before I popped. But it makes sense to keep timing those contractions, and make sure whoever is taking you to the hospital is contactable 24/7 and knows the way. Good luck!

I had really bad braxton hicks with my baby girl, I timed them and they were always inconsistent. BUT when I was in actual labor they were almost right on timed apart. Drinking water wouldn't make your real contractions lessen either. Sounds like you'll be having your baby really soon. Have you lost anything bloody or muscusy??? Thats a sign that your losing your plug and labor could start at anytime. I started losing pieces of mine on a saturday and went into full labor Wed evening. She ws born early thursday morning.

Checking in with Labor and Delivery is the best bet.

Sounds like you are in labor. Your dates were probably off but that's no big deal if your contractions get to about 5 minutes apart i would run to the hospital. Braxton hicks are never consistent so your probably in labor! Good luck I hope all goes well!

Sound like your really close. I had Braxton-Hicks for months before I delivered, some of whick were painful enough that I had to breath through them.
I knew it was real labour when I was unable to time my own contractions anymore... I was completely focused on breathing.
Go with your gut instinct... if you think you're in active labour... go to the hospital!!
