Wait until the last possible minute.. and if you cant get a midwife.. then I would definately give birth in the hospital with no medication. If you are a high risk pregnancy.. then I woudlnt even consider a midwife. Too many complications. I personally would give birth in the hospital due to complications.. and having the doctor there if anything should happen.. that way you and your baby would have a better chance.

I would do a major search... Maybe instead of having a mid-wife you could have an nurse from labor and delivery if that is possible ask the hospital. Maybe even a nurse from your OBGYN I looked up a website saying that not only can a mid-wife deliever a baby during a home birth but so can a nurse. I forget what site I was reading that on. Do your home work online you can find out alot online more than what your going to be told through Yahoo Answers sometimes.

I wouldn't give a birth without a midwife, I'd consider going to a hospital.

Good luck!!!

Look for a Doula, they attend home births and can probably offer some suggestions as to who to talk to in your area.
