411 generally means information, but should only be used as such in very casual settings.
Email to your best friend; okay.
Email to your boss; not okay.

411 stands for information (type 411 on your cell phone and youll get some sort of directory assistance) In pop culture it still stands for information. A sentence for example would be: "whats the 411 on Jenny going out with mike?" Meaning what are all the details on Jenny going out with Mike, its a way to ask for information. Hope this helps

411 means information. I would say you can use it anytime in a sentence... Do you have the 411 that I requested? Most people however just say information instead of 411.

411 is just another way of saying information, the scoop, the low down, etc. On telephone service to receive "information" you dial 411 or sometime 1411, but in general it is the same. You can use it anytime you want to refer to information about something. EXAMPLE: Yesterday I got the 411 on John Doe and his wife that moved in next door.

For decades, most of the United States and Canada has used 4-1-1 as the telephone number for local directory assistance. One notable exception is the Pacific Northwest used 1-1-3 until the mid-1980s. In recent years, 4-1-1 has been used for long distance directory assistance in most areas in the United States. The traditional long distance directory number is 1-area code-555-1212. 411 is also used as a slang term meaning "information".
Landline telephone directory
411 service is generally provided by the local telephone company or wireless provider. Approximately 6 billion calls are made to 411 within the United States each year. Premium services such as Infone supplement 411 with detailed searches and concierge services.
Since deregulation, the price of using 411 has increased to about $1.25 USD in the U.S., compared to $0.50 CAD in most of Canada. Many payphones still have the most basic form of local 411 free of charge, presumably because the customer will pay to call any numbers provided.
A few new services now provide customers with a free alternative to the local-provider 411 service within the United States.
* 1-800-FREE-411 (1-800-3733-411); offered by Jingle Networks the largest free provider of directory assistance and has captured approximately three percent of the directory assistance market [1].
* 1-800-411-SAVE (1-800-411-7283)
* 1-877-520-FIND (1-877-520-3463)
Each of these services is usually sponsored by local businesses and features a brief recorded tag to identify the sponsor and its offerings.
Other free telephone information services include:
* Internet Search Pro at 1-888-ISP-FOR-U (1-888-477-3678), which will perform directory assistance or look up anything else that can be found online.
* 1-800-555-TELL (1-800-555-8355), which provides telephone information such as news, weather, sports, stock quotes, driving directions, time, and more.
* 1-800-555-1212, which provides directory assistance for toll-free numbers only.
Wireless telephone directory
In addition to the local and long distance directory services, there is also consumer-choice and privacy-protected "Wireless 411 Service". As specified by the industry, the service will give consumers the choice of including their wireless phone numbers in voice 411. Consumers who choose to opt-in will not have their information disclosed for print, online directories, lists, or telemarketing firms. The service will allow any landline or a wireless phone user to call 411 and be connected to the wireless listing of a person who has chosen to participate in the service. Carriers who make up the industry LLC creating the service include Alltel, Cingular, Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile.
Hope it helps

The best reverse cell phone lookup service that I have tried is http://reversephone.toptips.org
From using a reverse cell phone lookup you will be able to get the callers name and address just
by typing the phone numbers they will tell you the details related to the number.
The reverse cell phone lookup service has your details available they will give you the cell phones location. For a full report including a name and address and other interesting informations you will have to pay.
Enter the number in the system and they will tell you a lot of informations about the phone number and the person who owns it.
If they have extra details you will have to pay for the report.
Free reverse phone lookup sites generally provide the most basic of information such as name and it works only for landlines. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book.
This service is great, I used it a lot f time with great results: I always obtained what I was searching for.
I definitely reccomend this service.
