oh my goodness yes!!!!!

i'm 16 and i just finished my first semester in college... i made good grades all the way through high school and i truly think that a big part of it was that my mom was really understanding when i wanted to experiment with stuff like that...

i saw other girls who'd steal wax or tweezers from walmart since their moms wouldn't let them pluck their eyebrows... but i knew that if i asked, my mom and i could compromise

(i remember i was about 12 or 13 and she had me do small chores here and there and once a week she'd pluck the middle and shape em a bit, only if i PROMISED not to do them myself)

-if she's asking and you're not letting her, you have no idea what kind of scaring that may cause... what if she's asking because someones already teasing her?

-you should be glad that she trusts you enough to come to you first, and if you let her down then next time she wants to "modify" herself she might not even ask, in fear that you'll just say no anyway...

-if you do say no, make sure you explain why. if she's a good kid, i strongly think you two should compromise, they're just eyebrows and you can moderate what gets done to them (she's NOT asking to shave them or anything)

-if you're concerned that she'll mess them up, then do them for her or send her to a professional whom you trust...

-another thing you can do, is use getting her eyebrows done as an incentive for something like good grades... my parents did it all the time... they got the grades they wanted from me and i got alot of cool stuff that i wanted (clothes, makeup ect,) and as soon as my grades would START to slip, something would get taken away...

13 is a tough age and if she thinks tweezing her eyebrows will make her feel better, then you should help her through it. Lucky for you thicker eyebrows are in style right now. Find a teen magazine that tells her the same thing. Page through it together and show her all the beautiful girls who have thicker eyebrows. Then rather than tweeze her eyebrows away, help her shape them a bit and get rid of stray hairs. For her age just follow the natural arch, it won't be dramatic but it might be just enough to make her feel better. Maybe doing this activity together will even be a good bonding experience, too.

I hope everything works out. :)

Yes, I would. I have a daughter that is nearly 12 years old and I told her that perhaps this summer before the next school year, that she may, if she so chooses, have her eyebrows shaped. They will by no means be super-model seductive arched eyebrows. Simply a clean up. I know that I would not have been as self-conscious as I was had my mother allowed me a simple clean up of my brows at that age.

If it a source if discomfort for her at school or around other people I would have to say yes.
My daughter was picked on when she was around 9-10 about the heavy peach fuzz on her legs, she came home crying becuse other kids said she had hairy legs.
I thought she was a little too young to start shaving but when I saw how upset she was I conceded to my wife's plan.
My wife bought her a "kid friendly" razor and showed her how to properly use it.
She now feels much better about herself when going to school in shorts, or swiming at the pool.

Show her how to properly do it and not to Over do it. because teasing can came for plucking too much too.
Hope this was helpful.
Good luck to you and your daughter.

I think I would just tell her that she can pluck them when she wants, and let her learn from her own mistakes. And maybe if she asks for some tips help her, give her a few tips.
Good Luck!

yes! i started at 10! just depends how thick they are. some people don't need it but if shes getting a monobrow then i would do it for her...teach her how to do it though...u dont want her to end up plucking it all away...if ur unsure...do it for her and only pluck the stray hairs and the centre just to neaten it up for her....she will gradually learn what looks good aswell...but guide her to start with...hope that helps :)

I'd let her have them done... Or show her how to do them properly. When you're 13, youre super aware of yourself and self-conscious... Bring her to a nice salon and have them nicely sculpt her some beautiful classic brows... Why not?

If they're really bushy they may be causing her a lot of distress and embarassment. I would say yes, let her. It might be best if you take her to a salon and get them done. It's inexpensive and she'll have a nice shape to them.

If it's pretty bad, I would let her. I look back as some of my pictures, and wish my mom let me pluck earlier!
