I don't know what county in GA you are in , but I am in GA as well, I just did this yesterday. The court doesn't have any forms to give you, the superior court in my county charges $80 filing fee and if you want to have your husband served, it is an extra $25.
They told me to go on fulton county website and print the divorce forms from there, just cross out fulton county and write your county's name on the paperwork. Contested/Uncontested divorce is still the same price to file, there is one form you have to have notarized, if you are filing a contested divorce. 4 forms need to be notarized if you are filing uncontested. Also since he lives out of state, you can try doing divorce by publication, you still have to file with the court but they will post your divorce in the local newspaper and if he doesn't respond, your divorce will be granted. All fees for the above divorces are $80.00. Good Luck !
P.S. I bought a do it yourself divorce kit from Staples for $30 and ended up not using it because none of those forms were worded correctly and the clerk said they would take it but everything would get sent back to me since it doesn't meet GA criteria. Don't waste your money on those kits, just go to the fulton co website and print those forms for FREE.

I filed for and completed my own divorce as well. I would suggest checking with your local law library. In travis county where I live it was easy. Depending on the law where you are and if this is an uncontested divorce you should be able to file yourself. try searching for your counties law library online first. There are sites that offer the paperwork for a fee ..which i stupidly paid for and then checked with an attorney who led me to www.traviscountylawlibrary.org. Hope this helps.

It costs about 25 dollars anywhere to get the paper work. In the paper work it has a section where to file for free because of low income. Fill it out and take it in with your paper work. Go to your courthouse and get the paper work there and they can probably explain it better.

You will probabbly want to use the papers from his state. Traditionally you must use the papers from the state you got married in.
