I was unable to get her a gift before x-mas but i would like to get something for her now. She said she loves animals and would love to be a veterinarian when she grows up. Any suggestions?

I agree--buy her some James Herriot books. I loved those as a kid and I had always wanted to be a vet. I ended up being an NP, but I am still interested in animals.
Another idea would be to get her a microscope. Science is important to get into vet school.

There is a series of books written by a man with the pen name of James Herriot. He details his life as a vet in rural England. They are not only a very entertaining series of books,but offer a practical,if somewhat fanciful look at the life of a vet.

does she have any pets? try getting her a dog or cat, or maybe a gerbil if u need something smaller. this will expose her to animal care, responsibility...it will be a good way for her to interact more with animals. but make it HER pet, not her parents, she will have to care for it by herself, including pet visits (though the parents will probably have to pay for this :))

buy her a doctor's kit and a stuff toy...and play doctor with her... buy her a simple gift and play it with her... that's priceless.
or you could get her simple pet...like a bunny or love birds.
- another thing are those barbie dolls with animal friends.
