Why do people gives thumbs down for their opinion?

i mean when you ask what you like and dislike about someone why give them a thumbs down for not thinking like you.
this has happened to me and everyone else on here.

Yup, it's annoying. I don't understand how someone can give you a thumbs down when you are answering the question and it's a subjective question with no right or wrong answer, just opinions. An opinion is an opinion, it isn't right or wrong. Maybe they just don't agree with it, I don't know.

I like to give a thumbs down to stupid people
like if I'm in the football section and the question is "who is the best DB in the league" and someone answers "Peyton Manning"

for those who don't know, Peyton Manning is a QB not a DB

I only give thumbs down if someone is just plain rude or nasty. I know what you mean though. It pisses me off to get thumbs down just because someone doesn't agree with my opinion.

This is just a feature YA has added, so people use it to express their honest opinion. I know I've done it myself and had others do it to me. I don't think it's a big deal.
