I know this question was asked a few weeks ago, but now that Edwards is officially running and Obama is officially considering it, how does it look to you?

Personally, I think the party and the country need this kind of new blood. Maybe then Mayer and his fans will stop "waiting". :)

Sounds pretty good. It's a little thin on legislative experience. But, that did not hold back GW Bush.

Obama appeals to basically everyone. Edwards maybe appeals to Southern Dems much better than Hillary Clinton -- an obvious carpetbagger when she was in Arkansas.

Both men are far more likeable than Hillary Clinton.

Maybe the real question is -- which way should it be -- Obama / Edwards or Edwards / Obama.

I was really disillusioned by the butcher job done on Howard Dean in the 2004 election. Honestly, I wonder if Iowa has too much influence in the process, and maybe is prone to selecting safe candidates that follow conventional thinking.

I hope most agree we need new thinking, new direction. So, the thinking that produced John Kerry in 2004 needs to change. I hate to say it, but I think Iowa is a big part of the problem. Way too much sway.

I'm not an Edwards fan. The fact that he's huge right now means he won't stand a prayer during primary season (See Howard Dean).

Obama has a good chance of making change, but Democrats want to see someone who is more seasoned than Bush and less apt for stupid comments like John Kerry.

Edwards should not run. He offers nothing. As a senator, he was absent very often, made no major legislation. During the presidential election, Edwards couldn't even carry his home state. Edwards does not believe in people-powered politics, and listens to the dilapidated advice of the DLC, who have made careers in losing elections for Democrats.

I think that Wes Clark has a better chance than John Edwards.

It is interesting, but neither have experience in foreign affairs. That is important because w is a living example of how much trouble you can get into when you are a rookie.

I don't think anyone who previously ran for Vice President with another candidate would want to run again for the same position. If he can't move up, he'll move on.

WHAT? HOW ABOUT A KERRY/OBAMA TICKET OR A KERRY/EDWARDS TICKET? WHY IS EVERYONE FORGETTING ABOUT ME? DO YOU ALL WANT TO WIND UP IN IRAQ?
