from when to when did the spanish inquisition last?

The Spanish Inquisition was established in 1478 by Ferdinand and Isabella to maintain Catholic orthodoxy in their kingdoms and was under the direct control of the Spanish monarchy. It was not definitively abolished until 1834, during the reign of Isabel II.

WHO ended the spanish inquisiton?

The Inquisition was definitively abolished July 15, 1834, by a Royal Decree signed by regent Maria Cristina de Borbon, during the minority of Isabel II and with the approval of the President of the Cabinet Francisco Martínez de la Rosa. (It is possible that something similar to the Inquisition acted during the first Carlist War, in the zones dominated by the carlists, since one of the government measures praised by Conde de Molina Carlos Maria Isidro de Borbon was the re-implementation of the Inquisition).

The Spanish Inquisition begins in 1492 after the fall of the last Islamic Garrison at the city of Granada. King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella had finally driven the Muslim forces out of Europe and re-conquered Spain. Both felt it necessary to 'root out the last hidden vestiges of this vile sect once and for all'. The Spanish Inquisition is formally created and charged with the removal of all Jewish and Islamic followers from Spain once and for all.

Queen Isabel II abolished the Inquisition in 1834 finally, but the damage had been done many times over already.

The actual 'Inquisition' began back in the 12th century by Pope Lucius III as a way to combat the heresy of the Cathars. The same Papal Bull was then used to round up the Templars and then the Midwives. The witches were not rounded up until after the Spanish Inquisition went into full swing however.
