Why do we refer to men as "Handsome",and women are complimented as "Beauty,Beautyful"?

Both of these terms have similar definitions.
Handsome is just more masculine while beautiful is more feminine.
It is a result of American attitudes, beliefs, and conditions. Society has deemed that handsome should be used for males while beautiful should be used for females. It's not a matter of right or wrong, just how things are. And know that this is not the case all over the world.

That isn't true. I have been called both handsome and beautiful before. It probably depends upon who's saying it. I guess it would be a form of courtesy to each sex.

Beautiful is referring to a feminine beauty which is soft,pretty and chiseled features.Handsome is a masculine version of beautiful it usually means handsome features,height proportions,masculine long faces etc.
