I know of the many consecutive winning seasons with 20 or more victories each college basketball season for Dean Smith, but I do not know who had a higher winning percentage, Dean Smith or Bob Knight as of this date.

Bob Knight is a more gung ho in your face coach and took a lot more chances that Dean Smith and lost more games. Thus Dean Smith has a better winning percentage, one of the highest in the NCAA Division I basketball.
