i glare at them with the look of 1000 deaths as i open the door for myself. i ALWAYS look behind me when i'm walking out a door in public to see if someone's behind me, and if there is, i ALWAYS hold the door open for them, especially if it's a parent with a stroller. ever try to open a door by yourself while pushing 2 2 year olds in a double stroller? it's not fun.

As the door is closing, I grab it and go through it. But, if I wanted to make a big spectacle out of that person, I would say very loudly, thank you for holding the door open for me. Chivalry is dead, honey, women have to defend themselves now, we shouldn't wait on a guy to do it, they are usually upset because we don't want to be looked at as s&x objects anymore, they think that is a fine prize and anyone would love that.

I always hold the door for someone when I see them coming. Hopefully one day the rude b*tch or b*st*rd will catch on that it is nice to help others. Usually my response is just a shake of my head. Some people just don't have a clue.

I think, "how rude" and keep going; however, if I were the first of us going back out, I would hold the door for them.

I don't really care. I'm perfectly capable of opening a door all by myself. But if I have my hands full then I give them a dirty look and say "gee thanks for holding the door jerk!"

I open the door for myself and silently curse the person.

I just hold my own door. You can't expect much of anything from people these days.

I prefer it. I hate saying thank you to someone who essentially did nothing for me.

Mildly irritated. It is not a real big deal but I do appreciate it.
