I've played just about every release year of Madden. I just got '07 for Christmas & I've never seen kicking like that before. I do ok on kick-off & field goals. When I punt, it usually shoots straight to the right, gaining only, say, 15 or 20 yards & going out of bounds. Is there something more to aiming than having the arrow straight ahead? What am I missing? It's on ps2 on the all-pro setting, playing as the Panthers

Punting and kicking are the same...but I have found it a lot easier to shank punts on the new Madden. Why did they have to change how to punt and kick FG's, seriously?!?

Yeah punting and kicking are the same. How are you doing good on one and not the other I don't quite get. You want that little line thing straight, same as kickoffs. Personally I don't like the new kicking style. You will proably get used to it and adjust. You need the ARROW straight and then have the LINE in the kick thing straight. If that line is way to the side you shank, I have done that WAYYYYY too often on Field goals and that. I go to push forward like hard and end up hitting it to the side a little. Bull crap that makes it "more realistic" I mean if a kicker throws off his aim as bad as I have been known to they need fired.

its not like ncaa...even if u change the direction of the punt...all u do is bring the right joystick straight back and straight forward..i use to try to do it the direction i was punting, which always caused me to shank a punt or field goal..so just straight back, then forward..no matter what direction and ull be golden

if you are aiming your kick to the right, then you need to bring the joystick slightly to the right when you bring it up. when you move the direction of the punt and shaded area on the meter will move, so you need your line to line up in the shaded area DOG!
