The mass of the object will determine it's shape. The smaller asteroids do not have a high enough mass to become a near sphere.

Try spinning a square or a triangle. It's possible but difficult. The earth has been spinning/rotating and revolving around the sun for a very long time. The natural form or shape for the earth to take is a round one. Because of gravity everything is pulled in rather than sent out into space. So the result of the pulling and spinning is a sphere.

The planet Earth is an oblate solid. Having the shape of a spheroid generated by rotating an ellipse about its shorter axis and having an equatorial diameter greater than the distance between polesPlanet

Many factors affect how the Earth's shape changes. They include such as: winds, earthquakes, post-glacial rebound, plate motion, melting of ice, atmospheric pressure and more.
Variations in the shape of the Earth, defined by the Earth's gravity field, or geoid, during the past 28 years might be partially linked to climate events

Gravity!!!!
Gravity tends to pull to the center of mass of any body. When its big, the forces are immense, and ultimately shape the body into the most compact configuration, ie a sphere(A sphere is the geometric solid with maximum volume per surface area; it packs the most stuff into the smallest possible space. ). In that configuration, material is distributed equally about the center of gravity. most of thisshaping happen while the planet is still in a molten, gaseous, or a dust-ball .
Notice that in smaller bodies, like asteroids or the moons of Mars, that the masses are not large enough to have shaped the bodies into full spheres.

actually the earth is shaped like a sphere. not a circle it is also not a perfect sphere . it's bulges at the equator because of the rotation of the earth. all larger objects are spheres, smaller space objects with little gravity of their own have no defined geometric shape

Because the earth is massive enough that it's own gravity shapes into a sphere. This was one of the topics of debate when Pluto was ousted from planethood. They were arguing one of the qualifications was it's shape...an object is massive enough for it's gravity to shape into a sphere, it should be considered a planet (pluto is massive enough, and is a sphere)

Anyhow, that is why Earth is round...it's mass.

They earth is a sphere (not a circle, circles are 2d) because of there own gravity impoding upon themselves but because they are solid matter they will not completely impode so they are a phere. astroids and some other objects are not circular because they don't have enough mass so they don't have enough gravity to become a sphere.

gravity and mass. The earth has enough mass to let it's gravity pull it into a spherical shape. It's as simple as that. Some asteriods don't have teh mass, nor the gravity to keep them in spherical shapes.

its like a line that touches itself,

but ive never met any one that knew that,

astroids serve their own purpose they are like stickers on top of the black sky

the tell you,

hold on i dont know if you even understand me but i,l try to tell yuo anyway,

they are like little maps

and if they are in groups they are like words and communicate what other people are doing in the rest of space because

the wind in space but if you dont think air is like drowning you are wrong which means if you go into space air will tell what you did and mimic you by not leting you touch it. because if you went into space and remembered everything you would always and only think about whats goin on up there..

you see its the air not the thrust that a plane sits on

the wind the plane produces just keeps up with the speed the shape of tthe plane makes it look like it should come down

if the thrust held a plane up it would be the same thing because it be like a big fishing string tied to the ground thats being weaved by the air plain

planse swim like fish,
