Ok well to make a long story short one of my friends was playing Wii-bowling and hit the remote on a glass table. Now the controller does not recongnize any motion and is essentially useless. I've tried everything to get it to work, even tried to use it on my friends Wii system.

Now here is my plan and I am wondering if it will work. I was thinking of buying a new wii-mote from a store and then swapping the broken one with the new one and just go back later in the day complaining it does not work. Does anyone know the policy of this for stores like Gamestop, best buy, target? To my knowledge there is not any serial number attached on the remote so they can't verify it being the same one I bought.

And before someone says it, yes i'm looking to steal one for free because of my friends mistake, and no I do not care so please no preaching from your moral high-horse.

Thank you!

Dont do that. Go to nintendo.com and ask if they can replace it for you. If not ask if they can repair it for you. They have serial number on the remotes yu know? and if you return the one u will buy with the broken remote theyll know... oh yeah they will know.....
ur screwed lol what a waste of 40$...... lol

As time consuming and boring as this may sound, contacting Nintendo and explaining the problem is the only legitimate thing to do.

However, if you want to try something else before you return it here is a tip that worked for me. Try "spanking" your WiiMote.

Yes, I said "spanking."

Hold the remote upside down in one hand, and "spank" the bottom of the remote firmly with the other. This will reset the motion sensing chip in the remote and you should be back in business after this.

Give it a try, and if it doesn't work then call Nintendo and ask for a replacement.

Realistically? A place like Target will take it back and not care. I have returned a DVD to Target that I didn't even buy there. Just complain loud enough and they'll do what you want. Seriously, the person behind the counter couldn't care less when he/she is making 7.50/hr about what you're returning, as long as it LOOKS like it came from Target.

I know you dont care about what am I gonna say, but I believe in Karma in Life.

You do right, then you get right, you do wrong, then you get wrong.

So why do all that Con Artist thing, instead of asking your friend to pay you the remote Control, or go half and half with Him?

As I say before, I know you dont care, but in life when you do things like that, later you will get bad with other things.

Good Luck.

i have done this before at target with my ps2 mic. I bought a new one and took the old one back they refunded my money no questions asked. I left my mic laying next to the ps2, went out to lunch with my friends, and when i came back it didn't work.
