Any activity that promotes the immune system will help with a chronic viral infection like G.H. That includes moderate exercise like walking and stretching on a regular basis and eating veggies every day. Also limit your sugar intake (in anything you eat the ingredients sugar, corn syrup, cane juice, or any other form of sugar should not be listed in the first four ingredients) and eat whole grain foods like 100 percent whole wheat, brown rice, and oatmeal.
As for supplements you can try the brand Lauricidin, the brand Culturelle, and the herb Astragalus. All support the immune system. I use each of these items for a chronic condition of my own and they have improved my health significantly.
Also I try to manage my stress, something that helps with chronic conditions in general, with relaxation and deep breathing every day for ten minutes.

My best friend has had genital herpes for about eight months now, and it's been really rough. She's had about 7 outbreaks. Everywhere I read it says it stops flaring up so much after time, but its not getting less frequent for her. She's been on Antiviral meds the whole time, too. She also has type 1 diabetes which she has had her whole life, which really weakens her immune system. Will it ever get better?
But after a friend share this video everything has changed.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

As others have noted, you can't cure a Herpes infection but can certainly help manage it to reduce the discomfort and often the duration as well.
Anything that helps reduce or eliminate stress is a first step. Even something as simple as chamomile tea. Lysine (found in most fruits and vegatables) and propolis (bee pollen and honey) are both reported to be helpful. Tea tree oil is also reported to help many people. Controlled medical studies differ on the effectiveness of all these alternative therapies with propolis being the most effective.

The amino acid Lysine has been known to help reduce the incidence of outbreaks of the Herpes virus. Although it's true you can never rid yourself of the virus, you can definately manage it.
Try to avoid stress as well, which can bring on outbreaks. Taking a good quality B Complex vitamin, the supplement Rhodiola, and even Magnesium can help you manage stress, if you have issues with that.

You keep one thing in your mind for ever. Use medicines first if there is infection or any virus.
If there is no virus then you should not take any medicine, because the problem is non infectious and Alternative Systems of Medicines have best treatments, whereas Medicine systems can treat only accidents and old age conditions in this area.
