You may want to make an appointment with you OB/GYN and having an exam soon. Your cramps could be the sign of a serious problem such as Endometriosis or Fibroids. If so, the doctor can put you on birth control to lessen your periods and the severity of your cramps. If you don't want to check with your doctor you may want to start taking an over the counter anti-inflamatory such as ibuprofen the day before you know you are going to start your period. I know I crave milk something fierce during my period so I have found that drinking milk or taking a calcium supplement combined with excercise works well.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having bad cramps. But if it makes you feel any better, thousands upon thousands of girls suffer from the same thing. I get really bad cramps when I have my period too. And it also effects my back a lot. I've tried many different medications for this and I was put on the 600 milligrams of Motrin. I was supposed to take it every 4 hours for a full 48 hours but I eventually stopped taking it. When I feel a slight cramp I immediately take an extra strength Pamprin and a really hot, long shower. Let the hot water run against your stomach and it will make you feel a lot better. It also helps to relax you. Don't wait until your cramps become really painful to take medication. Take something the moment you wake up to help you with the pain. Good luck and I really do hope you feel better. And please don't stress it or get depressed, it's not worth it!!! Things will get better.

I know just what your saying....TRUST ME. I've tried everything for the last 14 years since my period started and lately I've found that this works best. First, begin taking tylenol at the first sign of blood. Start off taking 1 tablet as directed then increase to 2 tablets. The key is to take the medicine as soon as you see blood. Next, when your flow is getting heavier take a warm bath. Lastly, at night sleep with a hot water bottle in between your legs! You'll have guaranteed success!

my gf has really bad cramps and her doctor suggested she try masturbating if nothing else works, cause orgasms cause contractions of the muscles around the uterus which makes the cramps ease up
