Def Leppard DOESNT COUNT, as they're definetly NOT METAL.

But, as for the question, I think a great deal of the more extreme drummers use triggers on their kick drums. I gues they play so fast real kick drums can't keep up. (like the dude from Nile. he used triggers on Anhilation of the Wicked for that exact reason).
But as for the WHOLE KIT? I think not. no matter how good those electronic kits get, they will never sound as good as real drums, and they don't exactly try to make 'em sound Metal, now do they? ok maybe gay hair metal, but not real metal.

suited activity For A Cowboy=2007 Vino's Pizza Little Rock, AR (Despised Icon helping. in simple terms the stable survived that one) And as quickly as lower back in 2008 on the Village in LR. WORST Motorhead=1992 not greater excursions excursion, Barton Coliseum Little Rock, AR (they did no longer play any of their "old" stuff, between the guitars saved coming unplugged, and Lemmy grow to be detrimental. solid element Alice in Chains and Ozzy have been to persist with.) Ironicly, Motorhead is between the suited acts i've got ever seen stay, in case you count variety their instruct in 1983

too late.....they are already using them. when you see advertising and endorsments for ddrum and see a red box(trigger) on the set. they are using acoustic triggers on their real sets. and many are. image is one thing( the look) but what you hear from some of them is from the module. ie. peter criss, tommy lee, neil peart, and if you look hard enough there are many, many more.

Def Leppards drummer played one at one time. I don't know if he still does. This was when he first lost his arm.
