im 35 weeks pregnant and sometimes when the baby moves it hurts like stretching pains did in the beginning on the sides of my stomach. is this normal? also, sometimes i have pains in my vagina that feel like contractions but i know their not contractions because it only happens when the baby moves. could the pains be the baby moving down into the birth canal? this is my second child.

i really hate it when people get on here and ask if we really want to ask a bunch of dodos these questions... this forum is for women or men to come and ask questions about experiences they have had and to offer some type of input. if you dont have an answer or havent experienced this (BEN) then dont answer my question. im not looking for smart *** coments... and for your information there are not only dodos on here there just so happens to be people on here who have medical degrees and a higher education than you obviously have.

This is normal, I am currently 35 weeks pregnant as well. When she moves it takes my breath and sometimes is so painful that it stops me in my tracks. I spoke to my dr about this and was told that the baby has less room to move and much less amnio fluid to buffer the movements. Congrats and best wishes on a speedy delivery and recovery and a lifetime of happiness with your little one.

Hurts or is it uncomfortable? You have been through this before and even though every pregnancy is different you know what your pain threshold is. I remember that "hurt" feeling, it is more of a discomfort. Sometimes keeping your bladder empty and eating much lighter meals helps. As far as that pain in your vagina that is normal from just carrying the weight of a baby and it is your second one. How big was your first?? I wouldn't worry ...the good news is your baby is active, and with all the discomfort going on you probably will be having your baby soon. As you know this (carrying the baby) is the easy part. Wait til it's born and you want to sleep ...lol...I remember the baby moving down the birth canal, made me scream but it was over pretty quickly...(mom of 5) just relax, you will be meeting your baby soon...

First of all Congratulations!!!! This is my first child so i don't have a lot of knowledge, but as far as the pains in your vagina i get really sharp ones when i walk and sometimes when i am just standing still. I am going on 38 weeks but the doctor as well as other people keep telling me that all the aches and pains are unfortunately just a part of pregnancy. So Good luck with your baby ! Wish i could be more helpful.

LOL - I thin we found a surviving dodo & his name is Ben! According to my wife tis is normal as she felt exactly the same. Your baby is growing a lot in these last few weeks and also moving to prepare for their birth. I wish you the best of luck with everything & congratulations on the baby. Oh and Happy New Year ;)

I've just had my third baby on 27/12/06 but towards the end of my pregnancy i felt the same pains in my vagina, like a pressure when the baby moved but a pain full pressure, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about and just baby moving on your bladder or something. good luck!

Completely normal. Your baby is growing and stretching everything out. The pains in the vagina are from pressure on blood vessels, nothing more.

I think it's normal... I hated it when my baby moved. The strtching pains are probably exactly that... ligaments stretching. There's a lot more pressure now... I'm sure it's all Okay!!

stretching pains) nothing abnormal sounding to me. you may be holding a bit more fluid on you than you did with your first baby.
yes, its more than likely your baby moving into position for birth. and you are more aware of your body now.

do you really want to ask a bunch of random dodos, or maybe do you think you should ask your obstetrician?
