I totally understand what you're saying, BUT...
when the BCS ratings came out Michigan and Florida were tied right? So the difference in "WHO" played OSU came from "HUMAN" voting.
I agree with you hole-heartedly that the BCS Stinks and a play-off system needs to be put in place, but let's play devil's advocate...
What if USC beat UCLA?
-then Michigan and Florida fans would cry
-If Michigan was picked over UCLA, USC and Florida fans would cry
For what's transpired....
What if Michigan were picked to play OSU?
-Florida would sound just as much as a baby as you do.
For what it's worth, you had 2 deserving teams to face OSU and only ONE could go to the big dance. So SOMEONE was going to get upset. As for the playoff system, it's just not realistic because appointments to Bowlgames is what brings $$$ to non-profit colleges/universities.
Lastly, do you really think USC is just going to rollover and crumble to Michigan after losing to UCLA? I think they will play like "THEY" have something to prove.
USC will CRUSH Michigan because Michigan has NO answer to good offenses. Michigan's corners don't match up well with USC's receiving core. I'm not a USC fan and I know that.

As an impartial fan here, this is what I'd like to see happen.
In the BCS Title game, I want Ohio State to absolutely smash Florida. By that I mean by at least 40 points. (Hang with me here for a minute, Gator fans.)
In the Rose Bowl, I'd like to see Michigan smash the holy hell out of USC. Again, by at least 40 points. (Sorry USC fans.)
What this would do is create yet another case for a PLAYOFF system, which is the only way to truly crown a National Champion. I'm tired of the BCS system, and their ever-growing list of snubs for the National Title. Undefeated Auburn left out? Brilliant. USC stays home while Oklahoma and LSU duke it out? Brilliant. This needs fixed.
About the only thing I root for in college football is a scenario that proves the BCS is a bad substitute for a 4 or 8 team playoff system. So, with all due respect to USC and Florida fans, I hope Ohio State and Michigan crush their bowl opponents, just to further prove that the BCS got it wrong once again.

The Gators are from the SEC. OSU has never beat an SEC team in a Bowl game. Florida has the best defense that they have faced this year and the Gators will beat them by 2 touchdowns. I guarantee it.

It's only fitting that a team from the best conference in college football win the National Championship. Florida will not dissapoint. SEC football no dout about it.
