Any ideas what could be wrong with it or has the little angel broke it? I know its hard to say with out looking but I am willing to try anything! Ant ideas before I go and buy them another 1 which after xmas will be bloody hard, but the poor little bugger only got ps2 games for xmas!. Thanks in advance.

Well buying a PS2 before during and after Christmas is never hard. Most stores are using them as legos to build a table to showcase the PS3s and X-boxes. Some stores even offer to give you one for trading in 2 PS3 games. Try a regular CD and see if that plays. If it does it could be your games. If not your optical reader is misaligned or even pushed back. A true PS2 geek like myself will find this a quick fix, however a service center will charge you the price of a new system and local game repair guys will tell you that they changed a million parts when all they did was plug it in. He might have closed the disc with the CD way off center and it pushed or damaged the reader.

Contact Sony Tech Support and get the unit repaired. If you just got it, it is still under warranty.

Otherwise, go here and get it done fast for a cheap price:
