It would make more sense than spending almost $3 billion a week to maintain the current situation. But, simply passing out money that will be diverted to corrupt individuals and groups won't make any real difference on its own.
Iraq currently has an unemployment rate of over 60%. Remove the contractors and military personnel currently doing work that Iraqi's could/should be doing, help them establish or reactivate businesses to supply the materials required for rebuilding and that would strengthen their economy while providing even more jobs, close all but one highly fortified military installation and remove all other "coalition" troops and we will, at last, be seen as true "liberators."
It's amazing how fast fanaticism goes out the window when people feel they have a purpose, food on the table, a few bucks in their pockets and can see a future for their children.

Absolutely YES. Jobs will keep people from thinking about doing idiotic things like blowing themselves up. US must help build up industry there now. I know, I know, it's painful for America, but America has a moral obligation to fix the mess they created in Iraq. Will cost the USA trillions & trillions of dollars, so GET READY for ballooning debt, tax hikes, money that could be spent domestically instead going overseas!!! There's no choice now; can you imagine how things would truly get out of hand if the US pulled out and let them all go to he|| (Iran, Saudi Arabia send in troops, etc.) And the S&L mess of the 1980's was costly for the US? Wait to see how much this bungled adventure costs America (not to mention all the lost lives). The US has it's finger stuck in the hole of a dike now.

I got a better idea...lets give Americans economic incentives in creating more US jobs here within the boarders of the US and let the Iraqi start fixing their own problem. Just a thought.

We been doing that from day one, that's why they do not want to control the violence, and police their own cities, its because if the incentives they are getting to control it.

I don't see how they could have a better peice of economic help than our military trying to do all their defense for them. Time to Sh*t or get off the pot.
