No one's quite sure yet, but there is the question of whether or not he actually died or is in hiding at the moment. I suppose we'll see soon.

Dumbledore is definitely dead, but possibly could give a bit of insight through the portrait that is now hanging in the headmaster's office at Hogwarts. However, given the nature of these kinds of stories, Dumbledore's death was very necessary to the plot. This will allow Harry to step up to the plate and be more independent. After all, we always knew that in the end it will be Harry and Lord Voldemort facing off, otherwise the series would have been the Albus Dumbledore books.

I think so. In the sixth book theres not a lot of evidence that he really did die or that the spell worked because it had a different effect on dumbledore than the other people who just drop down dead. If you go on mugglenet.com they show you clues that say that dumbledore told snape to kill him as part of a plan to help harry. youll find the most evidence on dumbledoresnotdead.com.Also no one ever saw dumbledore at the funeral to prove that there was a body. so in short i think he'll return. Hope this helps.

No JKR said "Do not expect Dumbeldore to pull a Gandalf"
He is, sorry to say, dead and as he has told Harry before "Nothing can bring back the dead."

J.K Rowling (Harry Potter' creator) said that Dumbledore is dead and he's not coming back to life. But he can make an appareance as a memory, in his picture or as a ghost

I assume that he might return in flashbacks or in the swirly thing that preserved memories, but I can't imagine that he'll be back as a real character.

Possibly. If not in flesh then in spirit. Could be made in passing comment. But. Possibly.
Cheers for two points

While I do not think that he will return, we may see him in the form of a memory (wether it is Harry's memory or the pensieve) We will all miss him!!!!
