he received a nintendo gameboy SP for christmas as his older sister had one which eventually died ... and he loved it ... we purchased two games with it - a finding nemo game and fairly odd parents and he has no interest in either... we have a couple of her old cartridges around - a kirby and mario game that he likes - but we are looking for suggestions. Thanks!

Pull out the games he used to play on his sister's. It will give him a sense of familiarity.

Give him goals, maybe. If you're having trouble getting him to read stuff, only grant him one of the cartridges he used to play (maybe not his favorite, but one he enjoys.) Let him have that one. Tell him that if he reads you a story or two, you'll reward him with another cartridge.

Then, as he's starting to get an ambition with his games, you could begin introducing some more higher-level-thinking games and RPGs.

Use video games to your advantage.

Mario is nice.Try Spongebob or anything he watches in TV.But dont let the gameboy go first than his studies.
