The Hotel, which is attached to Mandalay Bay, is an all suite hotel that is very chic, Manhattan style. They have no gambling which is nice so you don't have to hear the slot machines when you come crashing home hung over, but you only have to walk down a hallway to gamble in the Mandalay Bay casino. It is by far my favorite. The Bellagio is really nice and posh, so is the Wynn (same owner, similar style). Ceasar's Palace & Bellagio have the best shopping. Wynn has my favorite nightclub, Tryst.

you'd probably want to stay at a hotel that is off the strip if you want to save some money. The Orleans is a good local hotel/casino, and only about 5 min. or less of of the strip.
The Palms hotel/casino has more of a club scene, and the hotel prices are probably higher but it is also about 5 min. or less off of the strip.

you would probably find the best deal at one of the local station casinos http://www.stationcasinos.com

and just a helpful hint, if you are going down to a casino on the strip, you can get to any casino by sticking to these streets:

for casinos on the west side of the strip you can get to them via either Frank Sinatra Blvd. or Industrial Blvd (for the North end of the strip)

for casinos on the east side of the strip you can get there via either Paradise Rd. or Koval Ln.

hope that helps!

Whatever hotel you chose, go to the booth in the casino and get a players'
card immediately if you play machines and play more than one at a time, get more than one card, if your at the tables make sure they rate your play! If there's two of you you may want to use the same card and build points faster.

I get comp offers by e-mail for free rooms and meals and even free play at machines based on really moderate level of play.
MGM, new york/new york mirage and others all use the same players card.
BE SURE AND ASK ABOUT COMP WHEN CHECKING IN OR OUT, THEY MAY NOT OFFER IT AUTOMATICALLY, AND TIP FOR GOOD SERVICE.

i'm going on the 1st.

it really depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend. we usually stay somewhere cheap cause we're only sleeping there!!

the tropocanna is cheap, like 35 a night or something like that (depending on when you are there) and its right across from MGM and Excalabar.

this time we're staying at the MGM because i like lions. lol. but it wasnt too expensive either. MGM owns most of them too, so you can get discounts at other places.

casino-wise, my favorite is excalabar. but i'll play at any of them :)

the rio is really far away, just so you know. dont try to walk there from the strip. made that mistake last time (and found out there was a bus after we walked a million miles)

Holiday Inn? Best Western? Mariott?

Or you could stay in one of those cute little hotels in Vegas with a heart shaped bed that vibrates when you put a quarter in it. ;-)

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas ;-)

For location and price, stay at the Flamingo. It's located on the four corners of the strip and in the middle of EVERYTHING. If you want to stay downtown and it's all about the casino for you, then stay at the Golden Nugget. Their prices are really good and the waitresses will bring you drink after drink even if you're playing the quarter slots.

It depends on a lot of things. If you have kids, then Circus Circus is good because it's geared for kids and still has things for adults. It's also cheap. If money's not an object, try The Belliago. Hooter's Casino is pretty nice, same with the Hard Rock. It all depends on what you want and what you're willing to spend. Have fun.

When I go back, I'm staying at the Palms. They've got that fab Ghost Bar, Real World was filmed in their suite and all the stars hang out there from time to time. If you're young or young at heart, definitely stay there!

I like the downtown hotels better. If your going for gambling, downtown hotels are better too me. they're smaller, the casino's are more acsesible, and some of the games have better odds.

Plus, sometimes you wanna get off the strip, It's too long, too crowded and too many mega-complex casino's. If I were going I'd stay in the Fitzgeralds.
