Rephrasing because question was not clear:
Some users report abuse because they disagree with a person's political views. Is anger at THEM misdirected?

Perhaps..I get angry at the users for reporting me, but I screamed at Yahoo when they took that info and used it to remove my account. Yes, the system is broken, much like the non regulation on the internet. But you have to trust people to take responsibility for the freedoms they are given, and I hold those abusers responsible first and foremost...

Anger might be too strong a word - but I do resent the fact that when they do this is discourages healthy debate and sharing of opinions. I believe people should be reported when they cross the line of being racially insulting, profane, or inciting violence without a doubt. I, however, was reported because I said a "thinking Republican is an oxymoron". I'm sorry - but there is no way this could be interpreted as being abusive. Political discourse is an important foundation of our system and is what makes America such a great place to live.

Not misdirected...being on Yahoo answers is a spot for free expression to a point. If people report abuses due to the fact they don't like what you say...they should really go somewhere else on the internet. They're too easily offended.

The only things I have reported were completely abusive and had unappropriate sexual langauge in them. I have never reported anyone, because their political views differed from mine or the question sounded like an attack on either party.

Yes I agree. I do not report because, I respect others opinions, but my account has been suspended once, cloned four times, and reported often I am not abusive, I do not call names or throw out insults. But I do believe that it is a results of my political standing, and that only.

No. This is a forum where opinions are supposed to be freely expressed. I keep having answers deleted due to the "not an answer" violation when it clearly is and answer. I do think Yahoo needs to do a bit more investigating on their part rather than take the word of reporter as gold.

I have NEVER reported someone because I didn't agree with them. If we all thought the same, and agreed.. there would be no Answer forum.. think about it people.

That is way too common anymore. Too many accounts are being suspended because people report dissent as abuse and Yahoo is too self-absorbed to figure that out.

Well some people cant handle the idea that their views are either impractical or that other people dont think like they do. For them it's not about who's right its more about their ego.

Miserable people who hate themselves want everyone else to be miserable. Yahoo is catering to this pathetic group.
