Etiquette, and Ebay rules indicate that the seller controls the payment method. However, since the seller is willing to work with you, you can refer to the PayPal site where, it has instructions for how to bill, or send money to an email address. This is a particularly useful tool when you're working with a non-Paypal member.

Has the seller got a good rating...if so use postal orders and send 'signed for'.

Just because you stipulate that you will only use Paypal doesn't matter..it is what the seller uses that comes first.

Anyway, I would think that his email is probably set up via Paypal anyway...but if not sure..ask them. What are the sellers details..post back and update and we can check him out

You and they need Paypal accounts (www.paypal.com). If you both have these you log in with your email address and a password and use their email address as the payee. You simply put in the money you want to send and say where it has to come from (credit card, bank ballance etc) and put in details like a delivery address etc and the job is done. More info is available at Paypal.com or in EBAY.

Why don't you email the seller and work it out with him? If it's Paypal it can be paid just by email if the seller has that as one of his payment names. If you're uncomfortable wiht the payment contact the seller. 99% of bad feedback is purely lack of communication. Most people on Ebay are reasonable to deal with if you communicate with them.

It is the seller who dictates how payment will be made. It sounds as if he is being conciliatory. The email address is his paypal account. Just go to your paypal account and enter his email address as the name that you want to send payment to.
Do things fairly and you rarely have to worry about feedback.

Sounds funky. They can have a 100% rating, because they may have only sold one item and who knows who bought it. look through their items and see how much they have sold.
Was this stipulation made before, during or after the bidding? If you pay by postal m.o., keep your money order receipt and who it was made out to in case you need to take them to court.

Pay them by postal order it's as secure as anything if you keep the counterfoil you'll be ok. Paypal is a joke and is nowhere near secure! If your item doesn't arrive and the seller provides a tracking number ANY tracking number your claim be dropped!
