Yes. A lot of hermaphroditic humans are assigned one sex or another at birth, so they may be living as either a male or a female, and no one is the wiser. For some of these people, they may feel that their assigned sex is not the sex that they identify with, and it can lead to some personality disorders.

Yes. I know of a case of a boy who had normal external sexual organs of a male, and ovaries and a womb inside. Nobody suspected anything until he was in his teens and had his first menstruation. He was taken to the hospital because everyone thought he was bleeding from inside. He was operated on and the female internal sexual organs were removed. The parents were explained the situation but the boy wasn't told anything. It happened in Spain in the 1980ies and the story was told to me by a OR nurse who was present there. Imagine what publicity such a story would have caused today?!? I say, lucky guy, he probably went on to have a perfectly normal life, even kids. There was no reason why he wouldn't have.

My mother was once a nurse and did a rotation in pediatrics. She's seen it first hand. Under most circumstances, though, one set of sexual organs is the dominant and take over while the others die off. This happens when the baby is really young. It's very rare for both sets of sexual organs to thrive. And in the case that it does, both sets remain under-developed so the person may never reach menses or have an erection.

There are a variety of sexual abnormalities that fall loosely under this category. In the case of humans, they cannot self-fertilize and are usually sterile.
