nowadays it seems as if it is a fashion in hollywood to divorce partners. Most of the hollywood's famous actors/ actresses don't let their marriage be successful for even months. Is it some kind of fad? Or do they think it is cool? Well I don't think so. I mean what about all the love stuff that is shown in the movies they act. Like love at first site, love forever, dyeing for love. Don't you feel it is an ironic situation? I mean what they do in their life doesn't completely go with the content of their movies. Is it that normal people enjoy these gossips? becoz I don't. What do you think is it completely ok?

Actors should not all be lumped into the same category. There are SOME long term relationships in Hollywood. Take for instance Paul Newman and JoAnn Woodward. These long term relationships are the exception not the norm. Why? There are many factors.

1. The type of person drawn to a life as an actor.
Many have tremendous emotional needs. They have learned to use this to their advantage as actors on the screen, but being so needy in real life can often destroy relationships. It is the same reason you often see great actors destroying themselves with drugs, alcohol or other vices. Consider the fact that hardly anyone ends up in the movies by accident. They are driven people who must stay on goal and never accept less than what they want to even get a shot at the career of their dreams. This mindset may lead them to expect perfection from others. If you've ever been in a long term relationship you know it is NOT a movie. Life doesn't fade out after you make love. The movies don't often show the scene where the romantic lead is awakened 2 hours later because his gorgeous conquest has a snoring problem.

2. Distractions and temptation.
Often they are given anything they want from anyone they want. Add to this the fact that their work takes them away from their mate for long periods of time away from home surrounded by people who are throwing themselves at them.

3. Marriage AND Divorce are GREAT publicity.
You probably wont read about someone in Hollywood who has been married for years and stays married today. But, if someone gets married or gets divorced, BINGO front page news. Given the fact that their ability to earn a living depends on them having a marketable name and being in the press makes them marketable the temptation to marry and divorce often for the press must be considered.

I could go on writing about this for quite a while, but alas, I am expected on the set now. So I must go.

The problem is, they are self-involved flakes. It proves that you don't have to be smart, good, or have any values to make it in Hollywood. I like movies, etc.....but I think it's sad that the media/gossip shows, magazines are as big as they are. It doesn't say much for our society of today, and our values. Remember the Hollywood of the old days? People had class. Not anymore.

The movies they act in are make believe. They read off of a script. If you read Romeo and Juliet, will you being going off in your real life and killing yourself? Their real lives, are like anyone else, probably worse, with everyone in their business.
