It may have a lot to do with his own low self-esteem and his up-bringing. He may not realise it's verbal abuse and that it's wrong. Speak with him about how you feel and that it's not an acceptable behaviour when he's calm. Tell him that you respect him and expect him to show you the same respect. If he doesn't stop the name calling, seek couselling. Don't put up with it - it can be very damaging to your self-esteem in the long run.

Over the years men are gradually becoming bigger losers than the generation before them. The sad thing is a lot of things these men are doing now days stems from how they were raised. Sad but true parents today are also becoming how should I say this " POOR QUALITY". It isn't OK for a man to say those things to you. Respect for women has been lost over the years never to return. Whatever you do remember what he says isn't true. You are someone special. Your not stupid or a b**tch. I'm not saying that all men have no respect a few out there still do just hard to find. The wife should protest this irresponsible behavior so the husband won't do it to her. If she allows it, this just become a way of life and respect is no longer of value to them. If a wrong is tolerated those involed are all guilty of it.

They do it to make themselves feel superior. They're sad, insecure little wusses, and they have to pick on someone else in order to feel better about themselves...like it makes them feel more like a man. But all it does is show how much of a punk they are.

I would not call a woman a name unprovoked, but if she does it to me enough times, I think a man has a right to.

Being called stupid and a b*itch is abuse. Its not OK and he needs to talk to someone professional about his behavior.

He is being verbally abusive. Maybe he saw his father do it to his mother, or maybe he is just a plain jerk.

it is not the wife, it is their self they are describing...stupid, bad etc... they project it.
