Hi, I completely understand you. I'm aiming for an A* in Literature and I spend such a long time preparing for the exam, but I completely waffled to. I think it's the exam pressure knowing that you have little time to think about your answer, and you just want to get something written. I don't think I totally screwed it up, and I bet you haven't either, but I know I could have done better. I'm particularly worried about the first section (Lord of the Flies) because I didn't talk about half of the things that I wanted to talk about, and knowing that others have written about important aspects that I didn't cover worries me. The thing is though, if coursework were 75% of the exam, then that would make life way too easy, and if you and about 50 other people in your school then got an A* in their English Literature GCSE, you'd want it to be harder so you stood out in the crowd. At least getting a good grade in your coursework will lower the mark you need to get an A* in your exam. I got 100% in my coursework, which means that I need 86% in my exam to get an A*. The paper is out of 66, so that means I can drop 9 marks to get an A*. I'd imagine that your grade boundaries pretty similar. Don't beat yourself up too much about it. Yes, GCSEs do matter but an A is not the end of the world - think of all the people that would be thrilled to get an A in their exam. Just concentrate on doing well in your other exams, and try to stop worrying about your English - after all, there's absolutely nothing you can do about it now. ~Mystic.

If you don't know why you are angry, there are anger management classes you can take. See your local yellow pages.
