I opened an agency offering a lot of services such as translating paper work from English to Polish, offering a lot of every-day kind of services that the average Polish only speaking person could use. This agency benefits the Polish people who can't do simple things for themselves like clarify billing letters, file taxes, get an insurance quote, DMV-related services, etc. Any advice on how to gain customers, and business? What other services do you think I can offer? Please advise. All advice is appreciated.

This sounds like a nice idea, but I don't come into too many people that speak Polish (in USA). It may not be a big enough market to make it your only form of income. You may end up having to only do that on the side.

To increase your revenue... You may want to contact the Polish Embassy and see if they can assist you - or even give you more ideas or jobs. Hope this helps some =)

i know very few polish people so i don't think that your business will fly off into the horizon like mcdonalds or something, but its nice to have it when you need it. the basic idea of getting customers in ANY business is advertising. honestly, when i see an advertisement i DONT want to go out and buy a whole package of their product, but if i need a product like theirs, i remember their advertisement and look them up. so dont expect people to see an ad or something a fly over to your doorstep and use your services, it'll take time for users to find and choose you. ads DO help, even if you don't see a difference right away. another thing is to have special deals for older people or something like that. include something to the effect that if they sign up now they won't have to pay full price. be aggressive in your advertising just remember that no one likes to be tricked so live up to your end of the bargain. as for what other services you can offer, ask your clients what they need. if their request is too much to ask, tell them that the task in not covered in your business. the best way to figure out what other services are needed is to ask the people who need them. if you do what they need and do it suffeciently, they'll come back for more. the saying 'the customer is always right' is not always true. clients can do dumb stuff that may require you to remove them from your clients list. the point is that you are the master of your business, if it doesn't go the way you want, YOU have to make the decision. i gave you some advertising and services advice, they are not very detailed because thats where you come in. sometimes its easier when you're given a category to work with. try that and i hope it works!

It depends in which city you live in, if you have a big Polish community, try to have lots of flyers in their church, deli restaurant, if there is a local newspaper in polish put an ad.

For translation you can advertise in other cities as long as the documents are sent to you and they pay for their service it can always go by certified mail with UPSP. I needed my birth certificate to be translated from Polish to English and through someone who gave me a phone number I called that guy got his address, his fees and it was done without seeing him.
