The game is unopened and in original package. It was purchased through BUY.com and they make it a hassle to retun it.

Will the UPC be distictive for the store it was originally purchased?

Very likely, yes. I would be quite surprised if any store took it besides the one it was bought at.

I have returned stuff before without a receipt. Just tell them it was a gift. Most stores will accept a return within 14-30 days if it's still wrapped. You may fool them if you act like you don't know it was from Buy.com. Most stores don't even ask questions. Since it is right after Christmas you can get away with this easier.

I would try Wal-Mart or Best Buy. Bets Buy accepts new unopened returns14 days after purchase, so you still have time. No store did the UPC thing on me when I returned stuff. Just make sure it's new and that they carry it.

Scatch off the UPC symbol and take it back to any store that sells it and tell them you received it as a gift and would like to return it. At this time of year most stores won't give you any hassle.
