I understand they never had to shave, never had beards or mustaches. How can that be?

My father was full Eastern Band Cherokee, and he shaved every day. It depends on what nation, it seems. We DID shave off all body hair, and the men shaved most of the hair on their heads off except for a sort of topknot. Flint blades are freaking sharp.

Actually, some native americans did (and do) have facial hair. But the best reason is that native americans are descended from Asians who have little or no facial or body hair.

The Eastern Indian tribes had facial hair, the Plains Indians had very little.

I'm a sioux (plains indian) my uncles one shaves and the other didnt...a cousin of mine has a really cool fumanchu....another cousin grew a breard but lookt like a tanned jonny depp..native ppls on the coast (bothsides) used clam shells to remove hairs...as for femmes ? we or at least i NEVER knew a razor..the gals in my corps always laffed or chidded me for being hairless...I didnt ever have to shave my legs or pittttts.LOL.on the other hand ??? my sister shaves like crazy,,go figger! and u r welcome for all this INFO LOL..but its in all cultures...also plzz dont think ALL us indians are alchies....cos our ppl are having a very hard time stuggling to stop alchohol abuse on many reservations...the indian CLUBS on the east side of the U.S.A. arent real indians just a bunch or rendezvousers/buckskinners...so if u wanna see INDIANS with hair see them ...i can name these clubs too....

maybe they used their big-*** knives to shave their faces. How could they NOT have facial hair??? I don't buy that! The Mohawk Indians shaved their heads -- why NOT their faces?!?!?
