Raqu, it completely depends on the job you have in the US. There is no national standard.

My job currently gives me 15 vacations day, 3 personal days, 1 safety day, and 10 holidays. That's 29 days a year. That's not including the 8 hours of sick time I get per month and can accrue up to 980 hours. My 10 holidays also roll over every year, so if I don't use them I keep them as long as I want. I will top out with 25 days of vacation eventually.

I work for a technology company. Normally we get 10 paid holidays. When I first started, I got 12 vacation days, and +1 day a year after 2 years (3 years of service = 13 paid vacation days, 4 years of service = 14 paid vacation days, etc.) - that goes up to 25 paid vacation days per year. In many lines of work, the more tenure you have with a company, the more vacation you have. And every company is a bit different. I used to work for a company that gave you 10 vacations days per year - and you didn't get 15 until you had been there 10 years.

I personally get 15 days of vacation, 5 sick days and 22 hours of personal time. I do not get paid for anything I do not use, and can only roll over vacation time to another year if it has been pre-approved. My Husband gets 5 weeks to use any way he wants, and the best part is if he does not use his days, they will pay him for those unused days :)

It depends on the job, some people get 2 to start off with - others don't get any until they have worked there for a year... It is pretty common though for your vacation to increase with years worked.

I get 2 weeks starting out, and holidays =)
