Tell your happy Cappie Happy Birthday from a birthday mate.....
I started my oldest on cow's milk at 9 months. She didn't want anything to do with formula anymore. If she tolerates milk base formula and has a solid grasp on eating plenty of solids.... you should be good to go. Just like introducing new foods..... start it out slow and in small amounts to make sure there are no reactions.

Understandably everyone is telling you to consult your doctor, but personally, my doctor told me so many things that I was not going to listen to and my children(3) all are just fine. My oldest was on formula until she was a year old, but I do believe what I did with her and my youngest was at about 10 months or so I started mixing their formula with regular milk. You can start out adding about 2 oz of regular milk with 6 oz of formula, and see how well that works. Gradually start using more real milk and less formula. This gives the child's stomach a chance to adapt to it gradually. My middle child was actually on whole milk at about 6 months. She is a very healthy child. I would never say that doctors don't know what they are talking about, but there are always variations of everything in life. You won't know until you try it. If it doesn't work now wait awhile, but I do suggest that you start off slow with the regular milk, don't go all in with it.

You really should ask her doc but what I did was use 1 ounce whole milk and 7ounces formula for a week then 2 and 6, 3 and 5 and so on. I started this about 10.5 mos.

Yes, you can also wean her a little at a time. Cow's milk is harder to digest, so you can start with adding a quarter of real milk then a half and so forth. Usually 1 is the right age, although some doctors will tell you 18 months.

I'd wait til 1. Many babies don't have the enzymes necessary to digest cow's milk until age 1. I fed my daughter milk (accidentally) about a month before she was 1. She threw it up! She is not 1 and she can drink it fine.

Your 1- to 2-year-old child should drink 16 to 24 ounces of whole milk a day. While you'll most likely have to work to make sure that he meets the requirement, keep in mind that it is possible for him to drink too much milk.
If your child drinks more than two to three glasses of milk during the day, he may not have room at dinner for the other foods that he needs to round out his diet. (He needs plenty of iron-rich foods like leafy green vegetables and meat, for example, because milk, unlike formula, does not contain iron.) So if your toddler's thirsty, get him in the habit of drinking water throughout the day, too.

studies are showing that early introduction of cows milk can increase the risk of diabetes and obesity. there really is no reason to switch your baby now, it can wait until they are 18 months or 2 yrs, it won't hurt them to wait.if for some reason you absolutely can't stand keeping the baby on formula then maybe consider goats milk, much easier to digest and healthier in many aspects. it would need to be supplemented with folate though

what you want to do is start weening her onto milk. that way when you do introduce to her it doesnt come as a complete shock. she may be a little constipated at first because of the difference between the milk and formula.

I think you can but I would go slow and still do formula or breast milk till you discuss it with your doctor. The only thing is that they should have whole milk because of the fat content. They need the fat for brain development.
