Ive owned 32 bikes ove the years. Street, sport, dirt and cruisers.
This is the best thougt out dual purpose bike that is available at any price. My 2006 has 8500 of the hardest miles anyone can give a bike and to my surprise it has performed flawlessly. I'm not a big jap bike supporter but this kaw klr 650 has changed my attitude completely. It is my favorite ride now and the most dependable cycle ive ever owned. ZERO PROBLEMS and lots of fun!!!!

I rode a KLR over 2200 miles in the Alaskan Tundra this past summer. NEVER had one single problem. At times, I was over a hundred miles from the nearest anything, no cell phone service, no road service either. Yes they are one of the most reliable bikes out there. There are tons of accessories and bolt-on stuff for them too. A great bike!

Wait until the 2008 comes out this spring the upgrades are worth it. All the klrs are bullet proof

It really depends on who you ask! You should read some sort of consumer report from a non biased person just rating all of the new bikes on the road. If you talk to a kawasaki enthusiast they will say yes whereas if you talk to a honda/ yamaha enthusiast they will tell you no.

If it has an adjustable suspension, you might be able to bring it down a little without any modification. Otherwise shorter shocks should do the trick - but there might be additional work necessary.
