I find some chords are pretty similiar but there`s nothing(absolutely) elsa that makes them sound familiar. They`re totally different in my opinion...yours...

The chord progression is also found in Pearl Jam's "Alive", which was actually released before Wonderwall.
I think it's just a popular progression, like the one in "Let it Be" which Bush, Dead moon, and Blink 182 all used

Well, I dont know if robbed is the right term to use. A lot of songs have a similar chord progression. Its only the first couple that are the same as well. Could it be homage to Oasis, thats another question that only Billie Jo himself could answer. But, if you look at Oasis, the first 5 chords in Don't Look Back In Anger are the exact same as John Lennon's Imagine. Noel decided to use these chords because he hated the fact that media critics said he used Beatle's chords, so it was his way of saluting the media with a middle finger (his words, not mine!)

Nirvana also played homage, if you listen to Smells Like Teen Spirit, it has an uncanny resemblence to The Kingsmens Louie Louie. All to do with homage.

In conclusion, I dont think its right to say that Green Day ripped off Oasis. Its a similar set of chords used, which thousands of songs also do. If that does't say anything, listen to this mash up of the two songs, it is something quite amazing http://www.bolt.com/wmXbassplayerXwm/music/green_day_vs_oasis__boule/611549

the same happened with Blink 182 and Green Day with Basket Case but no it just sounds the same but nobody stle it from anyone. Green Day just sounds like they robbed a lot of bands chords but it's just that Billie Joe (Lead singer of Green Day) has been writing songs since he was 5 years old I don't think that he would want to steal chords because all of his songs are unique and he makes up the chords as well.

lyrically the songs are differant. in chords, a lot of times songs may even be the same. the song "take me out" is the same chord progression as a U2 song(I can't remember which one at the moment). the Gallaghers are known for being jerks to any and all other bands that are as popular or more than their own band. more than half the crap they spew is for publicity.

Robed? Was it naked? Just getting out of the shower? Besides, broken dreams is an awful song, along with the rest of their wannabe punk pop crap.
