hang in there. i swear by gripe water, but different remedies work for different babies. it started with my daughter when she was 4 weeks, the dr tried the reflux answer and the meds for that made her worse. she went 36 hours without sleeping, cried for 15 hours straight and no matter how much walking, swaddling, white noise, standing on my head, crying myself, she would not stop. first the most important thing with colic babies is for you to realize it's ok to put her down and walk away. as long as she is safe in her crib or whatever, go on the front porch, play fetch with you dogs outside, just get some fresh, quiet air. after about 10 mins i would go back in and be ready to start again. it did not matter time of day, etc...her colic was pretty much non stop for days and weeks on end. finally i tried gripe water. you can give a dose every 30 mins, and it's safe and natural. after her 2nd dose she slept for 30 mins and after a few days of giving gripe water, and i added a pinch of rice to her bottle. (all were dr reccomended) she has been the happiest, healthyist most fun and pleasant baby that anyone has been around. i felt so bad for her, she was so uncomfortable and there was just nothing i could do. it will end, you just have to keep telling yourself that. i know it seems like it never will, but it will. best of luck to you, i've been there.

She may be allergic to milk AND soy. My daughter was severely colicy until we discovered that she was allergic to milk and soy and switched her to Similac Alimentum (Enfamil Nurtimigen is the same as well) and within days she was a completely different baby.

We also use Dr. Brown bottles which are the only ones that don't give our daughter gas. Prior to these we had tried virtually every other brand, including Avent, Drop-ins...all the "best" ones. The Dr. Browns are the only ones that work for us.

We also use gas drops, whether or not they work is questionable but for some reason we still use them :)

I know you said you have tried swaddling but there is a different product out there that may help. It 's called a miracle blanket and it has these flaps that you wrap around the baby's tummy and arms, this pressure on the tummy helps ease colicy babies in a way a receiving blanket can't. I urge you to take a look at it, it made a huge difference in my daughters sleep habits.

Well, honestly, there are some things that will help, but it can happen anyways. One thing that really helped us was car rides- but even that didn't work like two times. But every time we'd get to a light, he' d start crying again lol

Other things- the white noise can sometimes help- we would turn the tv on a channel that didn't work and turn the volume up a little.
Mylicon drops if gassy
Vibrating chair
Rocking/Singing
Baths would work for that short period of time while giving the bath
going for a walk outside

Goodluck, and if you can, get someone to watch her for an hour at a time to give you a break! It really helps! I know I was crying with my son sometimes because I would try absolutely everything, and it just didn't work sometimes. But i noticed it would happen at a certain time at night- around 8pm and sometimes lasted until really late 2am- one time went for a 3am drive. So I always tried to prepare myself before then.

It should pass with time... my son was around 2 1/2 months when it stopped... so hopefully soon for you as well!

My daughter was the same way. She is 6 now, so I'm not sure if this option is still available. Walmart used to sell medicine known as Mylicon Drops. It somehow worked about 99% of the time. They came in a box about the same size as Tylenol and used a dropper that was similar as well. Just drop in 2-3 drops per bottle and that should do the trick! Good Luck

I am a mother of two and both my kids have had this problem. I tried medicines but at last a herbal remedy worked in both cases. Here it goes" Take one and half cup of water in a pan, add one spoon of Aniseed/Fennel seeds, boil it till only about one cup of water is left, cool it a bit, strain out the seeds and put in a bottle. Feed the whole cup during the day as and when possible.
If the stomach is also upset add a few cardomom pods (small ones) while boiling.
(Aniseed is a very efficient digestive and mouth freshener, it has no known side affects).

Swaddling is one of the most effective ways to treat a colicy baby, but it has to be done correctly. Which basically means, it has to be tight, the baby's arms cannot not move. Also, try holding the baby in different positions while swaddled. Another thing you can try is leaving the radio on a dead station while the baby is sleeping.

I've heard that colic is thought to be over-sensitivity to external stimuli and I don't think it's related to gas. So, not sure if gas drops will work. I downloaded thunderstorms and played that for my daugther and it really helped.

But my daughter wasn't colicky. I'd try to swaddle her really tight and take her into a dark quiet room and just rock her. Reduce external stimuli.

Good luck - I've heard how hard this is to deal with...

One thing that definitely works is by taking a pinch of cumin and boil it in some water, cool down to room temperature then put in the baby's bottle and feed. The cumin actually helps the baby to release they gassy buildup that causes the painful colic. You can use cumin in your food and it will make you pass gass so bad! Works the same for babies. Passing their gass relieves the pain and helps the baby rest better.

There are these instantly disolving pills that are called colic tablets that work wonders..they are all natural..you can get them at most health food stores, kmart, and some pharmacies...you might try that and if you don't feel safe giving your baby a pill ( I didn't) then just take a dropper and put a little water in it and let it disolve...Hope this helps....Good luck!!!!
