but when we meet the right girl/guy...we 'think' we cant live witout that person but if they leave us alone, we will get adjusted again...its just a phrase meaning 'i love you so much'

Because they make you feel whole again. If you had never met them you wouldn't miss them, but I know that the people I can't live without make me feel alive and complete and wonderful. Just hearing the voice of a friend of mine, for example, can turn my whole day into something magnificent, even if it's been royally awful up until then.

I haven't said or thought that. The most I ever think is, "Wow, it would be difficult/sad to be without him..." but never "I CAN'T live without him". I can and will live with or without what comes to me. I'll take and accept my life for what comes, I won't just lie down and give up.

after a world of sharing and loving for many years, then your loved one is called to a better place, don't know if the heart ever really does mend, the silence is deafening at times and going to the grave is so painful, its been over 5 years, and still trying to cope, we don't live , we're just here, my first grandchild this year has helped, but the sadness that papaw does not see and hold her, breaks my spirit down even more at times

Because perhaps that said person is someone who makes us feel like we already feel about ourselves in the best ways. The other person listens to what we have to say, validates our thoughts and our doubts, enjoys the things we do for ourselves as well as the things we do for them.
If I say I can't live without someone, it's because that other person makes me feel famous, just by being who they are and being someone who never gives up on me, no matter what I say or do.

Some people become so special to us and so much a part of our lives that it's hard to imagine life without them. I always thought I would die if anything ever happened to my sweetheart, then something did and I realized that losing him wouldn't actually kill me, it's just makes me incredibly sad to go on every day without him. I do feel like a part of me died when he died.

its an expression, but yea, thats a good question, i can't think of a reason why,but if any guy says that to you,say why can't you live without me when you have live before you met me?
